The Pride Parade - Gleðigangan

Everybody is free to participate in the parade as individuals without registering or paying a fee. However we urge you either to join the parade at its point of departure or wait to join until the last wagon has passed by. If you want to render some help or take part in numbers already planned, please contact our parade directors. We welcome any colourful and imaginative dressing, your national flag or other signs of your pride and support for the LGBT community.

People who wish to perform a number in the parade must register before 1 August. You can register by filling out a form which can be found on the website, www.gaypride.is, from the link „Parade Application” on the English version of the website. Please download it and send by e-mail to the parade directors: gongustjori@gmail.com. This year’s parade route leaves from around Bus Terminal BSÍ on Vatnsmýrarvegur (see map in the Pride Magazine), and heads for the concert stage at Arnarhóll. All participants are asked to meet at 12:00 on Saturday, 6 August in front of a university building close to the bus terminal, named Læknagarður. The parade starts at 2 p.m. sharp.
