1.3.2007
The full metal punk-rocker Sarah Greenwood and her band GSX will be among starring artists at the Reykjavik Gay Pride 2007. The list of artists performing this year is taking it's final shape, and soon we will also announce the name of a world famous artist performing at the 9th Reykjavik Gay Pride.
Even though she is young, Sarah is no new-born in the world of music. She was only five when she started performing her own music and thirteen when she formed her first band. When she finished high school, she grasped the oppertunity to flee her birth land Swiss to study music at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
In Boston, Sarah's eponymous band quickly gathered acclaim from the press and notoriety in the local scene. The Boston Phoenix wrote: Greenwood has a knack for transforming pain and anger into edgy songs which alternatly smolder and blaze with the eloquently pissed-off attitude of Chrissie Hynde. Her lyrics are reminiscent of Lou Reed and Patti Smith.
Since then Sarah has moved to New York where she leads her band GSX, a full blasting rockers of the male sex supporting her proud and out rebel lesbian singer, guitarist and songwriter. GSX has recently published their first LP, Manifest, promishing to be the corner-stone in the fast growing girl-power empire in the world of orginal, rough and true punk. Reykjavik Gay Pride promish that nobody alive will fall asleep under Sarah's and GSX performance at our event this year.
