The Reykjavik Gay Pride will be held over the second weekend of August 2004, or 6 - 7 of August. The Pride committee is already organizing the event, that over the last four years has grown to be the third largest festival in the city. Around 20 - 30 thousand people attend the Pride each year.
Reykjavik Gay Pride starts on the Friday evening of 6th of August with glamorous opening ceremony. The venue has not yet been decided, so keep visiting our web page. The parade and an outdoor festival in the city centre takes place on the Saturday 7th of August. Those who want to have a float in the parade please contact the pride committee at vestur@vortex.is. Vendors can also contact the committee via same e-mail address.
August is the most busy tourist month in Reykjavik. Usually hotel rooms are sold out weeks or even months before the pride. So if you are planning to attend the biggest little pride in the world in 2004, book your hotel rooms in time.
