Four Days of Great Gay Pride Fun

The Reykjavik Gay Pride 2005 starts next Thursday evening (August 4th) with Diva’s Night at Club NASA. Carol Laula from Scotland, Eva Karlotta from Iceland and some other female artists will perform live music from 9 p.m. . On Friday evening we offer you the opening ceremony of Reykjavik Gay Pride at Loftkastalinn Theater at Seljavegur in west town (Vesturbær). After the performance of artists from Iceland, San Francisco, Berlin, Oslo and Berlin, there is a pride party in the theater lobby, with free beer until 11.30.
After the opening ceremony in Loftkastalinn the boys go to the Boys Dance at club Pravda in Austurstræti and the girls go to the Girls Dance at Idno (old city theater) at midnight.
Saturday is the big day. The line-up of the parade starts by the police station at Hlemmur central bus station at 1 p.m. and the parade goes down Laugavegur main shopping street to the city center at 3 p.m. . Last year over forty thousand came to the city center for the parade. After the parade there is an out door concert in Lækjargata with artist from all around the world ending with our one and only Paul Oscar. At 11 p.m. Saturday night Paul Oscar will be a DJ at the pride dance at Club NASA. Pride dances will also be at club Nelly’s and club Pravda.
The pride program ends with a soccer match between the New York Ramblers Soccer Team and selected team of Icelandic lesbians. The match will be a KR-Soccer Field in west town.
You can buy a VIP card for 4.500 ISK at the Gay Center at Laugavegur 3, 4th floor and at the door to the Diva’s Night at club NASA. The VIP card is valid for all paid pride events.
