The Reykjavik Gay Pride is one of the fastest growing pride events in the World. It is now a four days event, starting on Thursday evening and ending on Sunday. In August 2005 over 50 thousand people attended the parade and other events of the Pride festival. In 2006 the dates are August 10 - 13, with the parade happening Saturday, August 12th.
The pride weekend is the busiest tourist weekend in Reykjavik, and the pride is the third, if not the second biggest event in the country. If you are planning to come to our pride in 2006, we advice you to book both airfare and hotel in good time. To get the best prices with the airlines, you should book before May. More and more foreign visitors and artists visit Reykjavik during the pride.
