The dates for Reykjavik Gay Pride 2009 are August 6 - 9. Artists who want to perform at the event should sent their applications before the end of February 2009.
Reykjavik Gay Pride signs up number of foreign artists each year. If you are interested to perform at our event, please read our policy statment on performers. After reading the statment please fill in the application form and send it to us.
If you are planning to visit Reykjavik during the Pride next year book your flight and hotel early. August is the biggest tourist month in Iceland, so if you book late the price will be higher. We reccomend our sponsor hotels Icelandair Hotels and Room with a View.
Reykjavik Gay Pride offers VIP passes for the event in limited numbers. The passes will be on sale from the month of May 2009. Partisipation in the parade is free of charge. If you plan to have a float or a number in the parde you have to apply by filling out the parade form. 
The Reykjavik Gay Pride is a unique event in the LGBTworld community with around 80 thousand people coming to the city center for the parade and the outdoor concert after the parade. Thats amazing in a city of 200.000 people and a country with the population of 300.000.
The general public of the city takes pride in taking part in our celebration of human rights, in a parade with out police barricates and hate attacks. Grandparents, parents, sisters and brothers and friends come out to to be proud of their LGBT relatives and friends.
Exsperince how it is to be a proud LGBT person in a country where we have the same legal rights as the straight community. Come to Reykjavik 2009.
